David Collins
DOP, Cinematography
David’s initial career was with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, working in all areas of programming for Four Corners and Nationwide, Drama, Education and Documentary as a Director of Photography.
As a freelancer he started with the top rating Beyond 2000 series. His clients have included BBC, Channel 4 (UK), Natural History Unit (New Zealand), Channel 9, ABC TV (Australia & United States), Asahi TV, Discovery, Land Rover and Oprah, shooting programs and documentaries like “A Taste of Africa”, “Getaway”, “Lonely Planet”, “The Calvert Expedition” and “On the Brink of Extinction”. These stories have taken him to places as diverse as Lulea in the Arctic Circle to the underwater research lab of NOAA in the Virgin Islands. The rich and varied food and cultures of Africa were shot by him in the series “A Taste of Africa”. Filming on the edge of active volcanoes, the Great Sandy Desert’s lonely vistas and Stewart Island’s wild habitat are included in his portfolio.
He has directed and shot documentaries including “Matters of the Heart”, and “Morgan – The Immaculate Contraption”, and children’s videos, the latest one being the Hooley Dooleys “Wonderful”. His last project was a documentary about Vietnam, “Vietnam Minefield”, produced for SBS and funded by the Film Finance Corporation. He has received many awards for his work. He continues to work with the ABC as a freelance DP on Australian Story, Four Corners, Catalyst and 730, as well as shooting and producing videos for the corporate sector.
“My passion has always been documentary. When asked what I do, I have often said that I live other people’s lives vicariously. For me, the gift of being able to enter other people’s lives and explore what makes them tick is a real privilege. Documentaries open doors and canvas the issues of our time. I take this very seriously, and every film I work on is a learning experience – hopefully a two way one, where we as filmmakers can give as much we take.”
Chris Reid
Executive Producer
As the Founder, Executive Producer and Creative Director of CDR Productions, Chris Reid has overseen all video productions that CDR Productions has produced and delivered since 2003.
With a creative flair, Chris has been able to take original concepts and create thought provoking and creative stories that audiences are keen to watch and share. Some productions in Australia have achieved over 2,500,000 views on Facebook.
Chris has produced and directed hundreds of video productions for Corporate Australia. These productions have ranged from customer testimonials, live events, television commercials, educational videos and company introduction stories for the likes of Commonwealth Bank, Macquarie Telecom, NSW Department of Health, Go-Lo, Crazy Clarks, ConnectWise and Cisco, just to name a few.
Chris is a high energy, creative director who enjoys taking on new challenges, producing both live-action and creative stories to get the right message to the right audience. With no production too ambitious, Chris is inspired by films that tell great stories which engage and entertain an audience.
Robert McKnight

With over 25 years working in the television industry, Rob McKnight is a highly regarded executive focused on strategies and outcomes for success.
Working his way up the ranks through regional television before gaining employment in Sydney, he first came to industry attention after working on the promotional campaigns that propelled Seven News to number one in the Sydney market. Until that point Seven had always been a distant second behind Nine for decades.
Poached by Nine, McKnight proved his success was no fluke by helping Nine News reclaim the #1 title.
As the Executive Producer of morning TV show Studio 10 he propelled the show to a success envied by rivals and written about in the media.
A hard worker, he has never been shy in working long hours to get the desired outcome on every project he takes on.
Currently taking a year off and living on the Gold Coast, Rob is just as busy as ever writing for major publications and producing his own podcasts TV Blackbox and Monsters Who Murder: Serial Killer Confessions (which has had over 1.2 million downloads).
Rob has contacts across the media landscape including some of Australia’s biggest stars, producers and executives.
